Densetsu No Starfy 3 is one of those GBA games that just oozes charm—you start off as this little star-shaped dude who can barely swim straight, and before long, you're spinning through coral reefs, bouncing off jellyfish, and unlocking weird little transformations (the samurai one is weirdly satisfying). The controls feel floaty at first, but once you get the hang of darting around underwater, it clicks.
It’s not all just swimming, though. Some levels have you solving puzzles by stacking blocks or timing jumps just right, and the boss fights are these ridiculous, over-the-top brawls against giant crabs and angry clams. The whole thing’s got this goofy energy, like someone took a Kirby game and dunked it in the ocean.
If you’ve played the other Starfy games, you’ll recognize the vibe—bright colors, silly dialogue, and a surprising amount of hidden stuff to find. But even if it’s your first time, it’s hard not to grin when you accidentally bonk into a sea turtle and send it flying. Just don’t expect it to be super challenging—it’s more about the ride than the difficulty.
