So, The Death and Return of Superman on SNES—yeah, it's based on that insane comic arc where Supes gets wrecked by Doomsday and the whole world loses its mind. The game kinda follows the story, but don't expect a perfect retelling. You start off punching through waves of generic thugs as Superman, which feels pretty satisfying at first—until Doomsday shows up and, well, you know how that goes.
After that, you switch between different "Supermen" like Steel and Superboy, each with their own moves. Some feel clunky, others are weirdly fun (Cyborg Superman’s laser is kinda OP). The side-scrolling beat 'em up action gets repetitive, but the sprite work is solid, and hearing that 16-bit rendition of the Superman theme never gets old. Just don’t go in expecting deep combat—it’s more of a nostalgia trip than a hidden gem.
