Bomberman Tournament on the GBA is basically classic Bomberman with a little extra spice. You still drop bombs in mazes to clear enemies and break blocks, but this one throws in a weirdly fun single-player adventure mode where you collect these little creatures called Karabons—kinda like Pokémon, but they just float around and help you in battles.
The pixel art holds up great, and the controls are tight, though I still occasionally blow myself up when I panic in tight spaces. Multiplayer’s where it really shines, obviously—nothing beats crowding around a single GBA with friends, trying to trap each other in corners while bombs tick down. The AI can be cheap sometimes, but that just makes beating them more satisfying.
It’s not the deepest game, but it’s a solid pick if you want that old-school Bomberman feel with a few surprises. Just watch out for those sneaky diagonal bomb throws.
