Bomberman Max 2: Blue Advance is pure GBA chaos in the best way. You start off in these tight little maze stages, dropping bombs to clear paths—but half the fun is accidentally boxing yourself in and scrambling to escape the blast. The controls are simple (run, plant, pray), but the stages get devious fast, with breakable walls hiding power-ups that change how you play. Found one that extends my bomb range early on, and suddenly I was clearing whole rows at once.
Multiplayer’s where it really shines, though. Played a few rounds with friends, and it’s that perfect mix of strategy and panic—you think you’ve got someone cornered, then they grab a sneaky speed boost and zip right past your trap. The pixel art’s bright and crisp, and the explosions have that satisfying *pop* to them. If you’ve got a GBA link cable lying around, this one’s a no-brainer for couch battles.
