Bomberman Max 2: Max Version on the GBA is exactly what you’d expect—chaotic, fast, and way too easy to lose an hour to. You’re dropping bombs in tight little mazes, trying to blow up blocks and enemies before they blow you up. The controls are simple, but timing your explosions just right takes some practice—I kept trapping myself in corners at first.
Where it really shines is multiplayer. Grab a friend (or three) and it turns into this frantic mess of dodging and last-second escapes. The Max Version adds a few new power-ups and tweaks, but honestly, it’s still classic Bomberman at heart—just with a little extra polish. If you’ve played any of the older ones, you’ll feel right at home.
It’s not reinventing the wheel, but it doesn’t need to. Sometimes you just want to blow stuff up.
