Okay, so this is the Beyblade GBA game where you actually get to build a full team of bladers instead of just controlling one. At first I thought it'd be just another basic anime fighter, but there's some real strategy in picking which characters complement each other - like pairing Tyson's aggressive style with Kai's precision shots.
The battles feel surprisingly fast for a GBA title, with these little top-view arenas where your Beyblade carves up the floor as you ram into opponents. You've got to time your special moves just right, because whiffing leaves you wide open for a counterattack. And yeah, the announcer totally yells "LET IT RIP" every match - cheesy but weirdly hype after a while.
What surprised me was how much the team mechanics matter. Some characters have abilities that trigger when their health gets low, others work better as openers... took me a few losses to figure out my ideal rotation. The sprite work's actually pretty solid too - you can see the little details on each Beyblade model spinning at crazy speeds.
If you ever traded Beyblades in the schoolyard, this is basically that childhood fantasy turned into a proper tactical battler.
