Man, Street Fighter II' Plus – Champion Edition on the Genesis is still such a blast. You boot it up, pick your fighter—maybe Ryu for the classic Hadouken spam or Chun-Li for those lightning-fast kicks—and suddenly you're right back in that arcade mindset. The controls are tight, the sprites are chunky in that perfect 16-bit way, and the sound effects? That "Yoga Flame!" scream from Dhalsim never gets old.
What I love about this version is the tweaks—mirror matches, faster gameplay, and Bison actually being playable (finally). It’s not just nostalgia, either. The fights still feel strategic, whether you’re baiting someone into a Shoryuken or just trying not to get wrecked by Guile’s endless Sonic Booms. If you’ve got a friend around, it’s chaos in the best way. Just don’t blame me when someone throws a controller after losing three rounds in a row.
This is the version I keep coming back to when I want that raw, no-frills Street Fighter vibe.
