Man, Street Fighter II Champ on SNES is still one of those games that just feels right. You boot it up, pick your fighter—maybe Ryu because fireballs are classic, or maybe Zangief because spinning pile-drivers never get old—and suddenly you're back in that arcade mindset. The controls are tight, the sprites have that perfect chunky 90s look, and every match feels like a real back-and-forth brawl.
What I love is how each character actually plays differently. Guile’s all about holding back to charge his moves, while Dhalsim’s stretching limbs force you to play keep-away. And yeah, the AI can be brutal—Bison’s psycho crusher spam is basically a rite of passage. But when you finally land that perfect dragon punch to finish a match? Pure satisfaction.
It’s the kind of game where you lose track of time because you keep saying “one more match” until it’s 2 AM. Still holds up today.
