You control a Pokemon trainer traveling through Kanto. Your goal is still to collect eight gym badges and defeat the Elite Four, but the journey is completely different. The game is known for its heavily modified wild Pokemon encounters and gym leader teams, which require careful planning and team building. You will find yourself constantly adjusting your strategy, as many standard tactics from the original game no longer work. The pacing is relentless, with nearly every trainer battle posing a significant threat. Playing it feels like solving a difficult, constantly shifting puzzle with your favorite monsters.
