Pokémon Blue Kaizo is like someone took the original Game Boy classic and cranked the difficulty up to eleven. This romhack doesn’t mess around—trainers actually use strategy, gym leaders hit way harder, and good luck trying to brute-force your way through with an overleveled starter. You’ll need to think about type matchups, movesets, and even where you grind, because wild Pokémon levels are no joke either.
At first, I thought my childhood nostalgia would carry me, but nope—this version humbled me fast. Brock’s Geodude knows Rock Tomb now, and Misty’s Starmie has Psychic moves. The game forces you to actually learn how to play instead of just spamming Tackle. And yeah, some routes feel brutal, but when you finally outsmart a tough fight, it’s way more satisfying than the original.
If you’ve ever thought the old Pokémon games were too easy, this one’s for you. Just don’t blame me when you lose to a random Bug Catcher with a perfectly trained Beedrill.
