About Top Gear Gt Championship
Top Gear GT Championship came out for the Game Boy Advance in 2002, published by Kemco. It was part of that wave of portable racers trying to capture a console feel on the small screen. You got a decent selection of cars and tracks right out of the gate, which was pretty standard for the time but always welcome.
You control a single car from an overhead view, racing against a grid of opponents on tight, winding circuits. The main goal is straightforward: win races, earn prize money, and upgrade your car to compete in higher championship tiers. Two mechanics define the experience. First, the handling is very drift-heavy; you spend most corners sliding the back end out, tapping the brake and steering into the skid. Second, the nitro boost is a limited resource you collect from track pickups, forcing you to manage it for strategic overtakes or defensive plays. The AI is aggressive and the races are short, making every mistake costly. It feels like a constant, tense battle for position on tracks that demand memorization.
