About Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (japan)
Konami released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for the Game Boy in 1990, a sequel to Fall of the Foot Clan that arrived during the handheld's early years. It was a time when developers were still figuring out how to translate console experiences to a small, monochrome screen, and this title continued the effort to bring the turtles' adventures into your pocket.
You control one of the four turtles, switching between them before each stage to use their specific weapons like Leonardo's katana or Donatello's bo. Your goal is to fight through side scrolling levels, rescuing April O'Neil and Splinter from Shredder by defeating Foot Clan enemies and navigating environmental hazards. The game progresses screen by screen, clearing enemies to advance, and includes some light platforming. It maintains a brisk pace but can be quite difficult, demanding precise jumps and attacks. Playing it feels like a focused, portable brawler that tests your reflexes and patience.
