About Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Ii : Back From The Sewers
Konami released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From The Sewers for the Game Boy in 1991. It was part of that wave of portable games trying to capture the feel of their bigger console cousins. You got a solid side-scrolling brawler in your pocket, which felt like a decent achievement for the hardware at the time.
You control one of the four turtles, fighting through New York City streets and sewers. Your main goal is to stop Shredder and the Foot Clan, moving screen by screen and beating up waves of enemies. Each turtle has their own weapon, like Leonardo's katanas or Donatello's bo staff, which changes your attack range. You can also find special attacks, like a screen-clearing spin move, by collecting pizza slices. The game moves at a quick pace, and the difficulty can spike, especially during some of the later platforming sections. It feels like a condensed, sometimes frantic version of the arcade experience.
