Man, Super Street Fighter II X: Revival on the GBA is still one of the best ways to take the arcade brawler on the go. The moment you boot it up, you’re hit with that classic announcer yelling "SUPER STREET FIGHTER II" and the familiar character select screen—Ryu, Chun-Li, Guile, all the heavy hitters are here. The sprites are surprisingly crisp for a handheld, and pulling off a dragon punch or spinning bird kick feels just as satisfying as it did in the arcades.
What’s wild is how well the controls translate to the GBA’s tiny buttons. I was skeptical at first, but after a few matches, I was landing combos like it was second nature. The AI doesn’t mess around either—even on normal, Vega will absolutely wreck you if you’re not careful. And yeah, the versus mode is where it really shines. Nothing beats linking up with a friend and seeing who can cheese their way to victory with Dhalsim’s stretchy limbs first.
If you’ve got a GBA and even a passing interest in fighting games, this one’s a no-brainer.
