About Super Bomberman - Panic Bomber W
Super Bomberman: Panic Bomber W came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1995, developed by Hudson Soft. It was part of the late SNES era, a time when developers were experimenting with established franchises in different genres. This one took the familiar Bomberman characters and dropped them into a competitive puzzle game, a spin-off that felt distinct from the main series maze-based action.
You control Bomberman at the bottom of the screen, matching colored blocks that rise from below. The main objective is to clear your own playfield before your opponent's blocks pile up to the top. Your primary tool is the bomb block; lining up four or more matching blocks in a row or column makes them explode, clearing space and sometimes sending garbage blocks over to your rival. The game can get frantic quickly, with chains and combos becoming essential as the speed increases. It feels like a tense race against a climbing wall of colored blocks.
