Rainbow Islands is that weird, colorful follow-up to Bubble Bobble where you're not blowing bubbles anymore—now you're shooting rainbows. Yeah, it sounds ridiculous, but it works. You play as Bubby or Bobby (or whatever their names are this time), hopping up islands while tossing rainbows to trap enemies or create makeshift platforms. Miss a jump, and you'll watch your little dinosaur guy plummet in that classic arcade "oh no" animation.

The Master System version tones down the chaos a bit compared to the arcade original, but it's still got that same frantic energy—especially when you're scrambling to climb your own rainbows before they fade. Some of the enemy patterns feel downright cruel, but in that satisfying "one more try" way. The music's catchy as hell too, in that 8-bit synth kind of way.

It's not as straightforward as Bubble Bobble, but once you get the hang of rainbow-juggling, there's something weirdly addictive about it.
