Hero Hockey Stars is this weirdly fun mashup where you’ve got SpongeBob slapping pucks next to ninja turtles, and somehow it just works. First thing you do? Pick your team—I went with Patrick Star because, well, he’s Patrick, but turns out the turtles have way better slapshots. The controls are simple: arrows to skate, spacebar to absolutely launch the puck (watch out for the stun effect), and Z for a ridiculous super move that’s different for each character. April O’Neil’s is a camera flash that blinds everyone, which feels oddly fitting.

It’s chaotic in the best way—imagine Pig from Pig Goat Banana Cricket body-checking Timmy Turner into the boards while you scramble for the puck. The rink’s small, so games are fast, and the power-ups keep things just unpredictable enough. You’ll lose a few matches figuring out who plays best where, but that’s half the fun. Definitely one of those "just one more game" kind of hockey sims.
