Final Fantasy III - Hard Type (SNES) is basically the original FF3, but cranked up to eleven. You know how some RPGs let you coast through with basic attacks? Not here. The first random battle with goblins will wreck you if you're not paying attention.
Same classic job system—knights, black mages, dragoons—but now you actually need to think about party balance. I learned the hard way that four monks sound fun until you hit the first boss and realize you have zero healing. The sprite work and Uematsu soundtrack still hold up, though the difficulty spike might make you yell at your CRT.
If you’ve played the vanilla version, this feels like NG+ from the start. Bring patience (and maybe a strategy guide).
