Yoshi's Safari is one of those weird little SNES gems that feels totally different from any other Mario game. You're basically riding Yoshi through these first-person levels while blasting everything with the Super Scope—yeah, that weird bazooka-looking light gun. Bowser's kids stole a bunch of jewels (because of course they did), and it's your job to shoot your way through armies of goombas and koopas to get them back.
The controls take a second to get used to—you're constantly swiveling to aim at enemies popping up from all sides while Yoshi auto-runs forward. Some gates hide secret areas if you're quick enough to spot and shoot them. The bosses are classic Mario-style, with obvious patterns once you figure them out, though a few had me sweating back in the day. Oh, and two-player mode is chaotic fun if you've got a buddy willing to put up with the janky peripheral setup.
It's short, kinda clunky, but weirdly charming if you're into retro oddities. Just don't expect it to play like a normal Mario game.
