Yoshi's Safari on SNES is one of those weird, fun experiments Nintendo tried back in the day—a first-person shooter where you ride Yoshi like some kind of dino-tank. You’re basically Mario’s gunner, blasting Koopas and Piranha Plants with the Super Scope (good luck finding one of those now).
The levels are bright and chaotic—jungles, lava zones, the usual Mario stuff—but everything moves at this weirdly fast pace where you’re just spinning around trying to shoot anything that moves. The music’s got that classic SNES charm, and Yoshi makes these ridiculous noises the whole time. It’s janky, but in a way that makes you laugh more than rage.
Honestly, half the fun is how over-the-top it feels to be Mario, perched on a dinosaur, annihilating Goombas with a light gun. Good luck beating Bowser without your wrist cramping up, though. This game’s a relic, but a weirdly entertaining one.
