Yoshi's Safari is one of those weird, fun SNES oddballs that actually makes the Super Scope feel worth owning. You hop on Yoshi’s back with Mario riding shotgun, blasting through levels like some kind of dinosaur-mounted turret. The rail-shooter gameplay is simple—just point and shoot—but the way enemies pop out from behind trees or dive at you keeps it tense.
Bowser’s goons throw everything at you, from bullet bills to those annoying little shy guys. And yeah, the Super Scope’s accuracy isn’t perfect (good luck hitting anything in the corners of your CRT), but there’s something satisfying about physically aiming at the screen like you’re really in the game. The music’s got that classic Yoshi vibe too—peppy and just a little chaotic.
It’s short, but for a lightgun game on the SNES, it’s way more charming than it has any right to be.
