The New Mario World (v1.1) Game

Oh man, The New Mario World on SNES—it's like someone took the classic Mario formula and cranked it up just enough to feel fresh without losing that nostalgic charm. You jump in, and right away, the controls feel familiar—same tight platforming, same satisfying bounce off enemies—but the levels throw in some sneaky twists. I got caught off guard by a few hidden paths and weirdly placed power-ups at first.
It’s not just a romhack with swapped sprites; whoever made this actually tweaked the physics a little. Mario’s momentum feels slightly different, and some of the jumps take a second to adjust to. The music’s remixed too—still catchy, but with a few new tracks that somehow fit right in. If you’ve burned through the original too many times, this one’s a solid way to mix it up. Just watch out for that one level with the Piranha Plants—way more aggressive than I remember.
