The Mario (demo) Game

So, this is one of those weird early Mario demos for the SNES—you know, the kind that feels a little rough around the edges but still has that classic charm. It’s basically a stripped-down version of what would later become Super Mario World, with simpler graphics and some janky physics. You’ve got Mario running and jumping through short, experimental levels, and honestly, it’s kind of fascinating to see how the mechanics evolved.
At first, the controls feel a little off—like Mario slides more than you’d expect—but after a couple of tries, you start to get the hang of it. There’s no Yoshi here, no fancy power-ups, just pure old-school platforming. It’s short, obviously, but if you’re into gaming history, it’s a neat little time capsule.
Definitely more of a curiosity than a full game, but still fun to mess around with for a few minutes.
