Remember when every franchise had to have its own fighting game in the '90s? TMNT: Tournament Fighters was the Turtles' take on the genre, and honestly, it holds up better than you'd expect. You've got all four brothers with their distinct moves—Leo's got those quick slashes, Raph hits like a truck, and Donnie... well, he's weirdly good if you figure out his spacing.
The pixel art still pops, especially the stages—there's one where you fight on a speeding truck, and another in a neon-lit future city. The AI can be brutal (looking at you, final boss), but couch vs. matches are where it shines. Nothing like spamming Mikey's nunchuk spin while your friend screams about cheap tactics.
It's no Street Fighter II, but for a licensed fighter, it's got way more personality than most. Just don't pick Hothead unless you hate winning.
