This NES version of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is the one I grew up with—way tougher than the arcade original, but that just makes beating it more satisfying. You start off picking your turtle (Leo’s my go-to, but Raph’s sai have better reach), then it’s straight into smashing Foot Clan goons across Manhattan. The controls feel a little stiff now, but the soundtrack? Still slaps.
Funny thing—this Italian release is basically the same game, just with a different title screen. Still has those weirdly hard underwater levels where you’re defusing bombs, and that one Technodrome stage that made me rage-quit as a kid. If you’ve only played the arcade version, this one’s a whole different beast.
