Oh man, TMNT 2 on NES was my jam back in the day. You pick your favorite turtle (Donnie’s bo staff was always my go-to) and just wreck waves of Foot Clan goons in that classic side-scrolling beat-em-up style. The arcade version was great, but this port actually added some cool stuff—two brand new levels with bosses you wouldn’t see in the original, like this samurai dude named Shogun who shows up late in the game.

It’s got that classic TMNT vibe—April and Splinter get kidnapped (again), so you’re smashing through alleyways, sewers, and even a parking garage where you fight Baxter Stockman as this gross mutant fly instead of Bebop and Rocksteady. The levels feel a bit longer than the arcade version, which is nice when you’re playing solo and need those extra hits. Just don’t get cornered by those annoying mousers.

Still holds up as one of the better TMNT games from that era, especially if you’ve got a buddy for co-op. Cowabunga indeed.
