Remember when every cartoon had to have its own fighting game? Tournament Fighters was the Turtles' take on Street Fighter II, and honestly? It kinda ruled. You've got all four turtles with their signature weapons—Leo's swords actually feel weighty, while Mikey's nunchucks are stupid fast. Even the weird roster additions like Wingnut and that rat guy from the comics show up.
The Genesis version's the one to play—smoother animations than the SNES port, and the soundtrack slaps with that crunchy FM synth. First time I fought Shredder, his teleport move wrecked me until I figured out you could punish it with Donnie's staff uppercut. Classic '90s jank, but the kind that makes you grin instead of groan.
Still holds up if you're into retro fighters that don't take themselves too seriously. Just try not to spam Raphael's divekick unless you want your friends to hate you.
