Oh man, if you thought the original Super Mario World was good, wait till you try some of the wild hacks people have made for it. This isn't just a simple palette swap—some of these mods completely rework levels, add new power-ups, or crank up the difficulty in ways that'll make even veteran players sweat.

You'll boot it up expecting familiar Mushroom Kingdom vibes, then suddenly find yourself in some twisted version of Yoshi's Island with upside-down platforms, enemies coming at you from all angles, and secrets hidden in places the original game never would've dared. The controls still feel just as tight as the original, which is good because you're gonna need that precision when some of these new level designs start throwing curveballs at you.

Fair warning though—some of these hacks don't mess around with their difficulty. I may or may not have rage-quit a few times before figuring out the new mechanics.
