Super Mario World 3 - Islands Of Mystery Game

Super Mario World 3 - Islands of Mystery? Yeah, it's one of those unofficial ROM hacks that popped up years after the SNES era. At first glance, it looks like a weird remix of Super Mario World—same sprites, same physics, but everything's shuffled around. You'll recognize the controls instantly if you've played the original, but the levels? Totally different.
It starts off easy enough, throwing you into a familiar grassy overworld, but then you hit the first level and realize the platforms are arranged in ways that feel just slightly off. Some of the enemy placements are downright cruel, like they wanted to mess with muscle memory. The power-ups are shuffled too—I swear I found a fire flower in a spot where it had no business being.
Not gonna lie, it's janky in places, but there's a weird charm to it if you're into fan-made Mario stuff. The music’s a mix of original and remixed tracks, and some of the secret exits lead to bizarre alternate paths. If you’ve played the official games to death, this might give you a fresh headache—I mean, challenge.
Just don’t go in expecting Nintendo polish.
