Super Mario World - The After Years Game

Super Mario World - The After Years is one of those fan-made SNES hacks that actually feels like a proper sequel. It's got all the charm of the original—Yoshi, secret exits, those satisfying cape spins—but with new levels that somehow nail the classic SMW vibe. The first few stages ease you in with familiar greens and browns, but then it starts throwing curveballs: weird little puzzles, hidden blocks in places you wouldn’t expect, and some genuinely tough platforming later on.
I got stuck for way too long on one of the ghost house levels because I kept missing a hidden vine. Classic Mario troll logic. The music’s all remixed too—still catchy, but just different enough to keep you on your toes. If you’ve rinsed the original SMW and want something fresh without losing that old-school feel, this is it.
