Super Mario World - Mario Gives Up Game

Okay, so imagine Super Mario World, but Mario's just... done. Like, completely over it. This romhack flips the script—instead of jumping on Goombas and saving Peach, Mario straight-up quits. The levels are still classic SMW, but now they're filled with weird, almost existential stuff. Like, at one point you find Yoshi sitting alone in a dark room, staring at a wall. It's bizarre, but in a way that makes you laugh and then immediately wonder if you should be worried.
The controls are the same (thankfully), so you can still run and spin jump like normal, but everything feels off. Enemies move differently, some platforms just vanish, and the music gets distorted at random. It's not super hard, but it keeps throwing curveballs—like suddenly reversing your controls or turning the screen upside down. Definitely one of those "what did I just play?" experiences.
If you're into weird, moody takes on classic games, this is worth a look. Just don't expect Bowser at the end.
