Super Mario Flash 2 is basically the closest you'll get to the real Super Mario World experience in a browser. The overworld map slowly unlocks as you beat levels, and yeah—it nails the little details, like Yoshi actually working the way he should (eating enemies, spitting fire if he grabs a red shell, all that good stuff).

You’ve got all the classic enemies too—Goombas stomp just right, Koopas slide when you kick them, and even that weird football guy, Charging Chuck, shows up to ruin your day. Controls are simple: arrows to move, space for fireballs, X to fly if you’ve got the cape. Only weird quirk? Press space to pick a level on the map, which took me a second to figure out.

If you’ve ever wanted to kill time with a shockingly faithful Mario clone, this is the one.
