Super Mario Land 2.1 (2011) Game

Super Mario Land 2.1 is basically a love letter to Super Mario World, but with some extra tricks up its sleeve. Right off the bat, you’ll notice the levels scroll vertically now, and there’s this cool layered background effect that makes everything feel way more dynamic. Mario’s got a whole new bag of moves too—swimming, wall-jumping, even gliding with that sweet cape. And yeah, Yoshi’s back, because what’s a Mario game without him?
The world map’s got that classic SMW vibe, but with hidden switch palaces tucked away if you’re willing to hunt for them. The best part? The level editor. You can slap together your own crazy stages with springs, POW blocks, and whatever enemies you want. It even spits out a code so you can share your creations (or suffer through your friend’s impossible death traps).
Honestly, it’s the kind of fan-made gem that makes you wish Nintendo would just hire these people already.
