Super Mario 63 is one of those classic Flash-era Mario fangames that somehow nails the feel of the originals while adding its own weird charm. You’ve got the usual running and jumping, but with this floatier, almost slippery physics that takes a minute to get used to—once you do, pulling off long jumps feels oddly satisfying.

Controls are simple (arrows to move, Z/X/C for actions), but there’s a surprising amount of depth. Found myself accidentally doing wall jumps and spin moves I didn’t even know were possible at first. The levels mix familiar Mario stuff with some bizarre twists—like, why is there a random desert zone with quicksand? No idea, but I’m into it.

Definitely not just for Mario diehards. It’s janky in that way old Flash games are, but that’s part of the fun. You’ll probably lose a life or two figuring out the momentum, but then suddenly you’re nailing triple jumps like it’s nothing.
