About Panic In Nakayoshi World (japan)
Panic in Nakayoshi World came out for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1994, published by Sunsoft. It was part of that wave of Japanese games that never left the country, so you had to track down a cartridge or use a reproduction to play it on original hardware. The game is based on Nakayoshi, a manga anthology magazine, so the characters and settings will be completely unfamiliar if you did not grow up with that specific publication.
You control a little girl named Mami, running through a large, multi-scrolling world. Your main goal is to find your lost friends by exploring each area thoroughly. The signature mechanics involve a lot of block pushing to create pathways and uncover secrets, and you use a jump attack to defeat the various enemies that get in your way. The pacing is slow and methodical, more about careful exploration than quick action, and some of the puzzles can be quite obscure.
