About Pac-mania (usa, Europe)
Pac-Mania came to the Sega Genesis, published by Tengen, during a time when arcade conversions were a major part of the console's library. It was a version of the 1987 arcade game that tried to push the classic maze concept into a new dimension.
You control Pac-Man from an isometric viewpoint, navigating mazes that have a slight sense of depth. The main goal remains the same: clear all the dots while avoiding the four ghosts. The signature mechanics are the jump button, which lets you hop over ghosts to evade them, and the larger, scrolling mazes that don't confine you to a single screen. The pacing is faster and more frantic than the original, with ghosts that are generally more aggressive.
