Okay, so Mega Man: The Wily Wars on Genesis sounds like a dream—three classic NES games with 16-bit polish? Sign me up. Except… it’s kinda underwhelming.
Yeah, the sprites are cleaner, but the backgrounds? Barely changed from the 8-bit originals. And the music—oof. Those iconic Mega Man tunes got flattened into this weird, tinny mess that just doesn’t hit the same. Controls are tight, at least, and hey, it’s neat seeing Blue Bomber in 16-bit outside of Mega Man 7 (we don’t talk about that one).
But honestly? Stick to the NES versions. This feels like someone slapped a fresh coat of paint on a masterpiece and called it a remaster. Not terrible, just… unnecessary. You’ve got better ways to replay these classics.
