Ah, Donkey Kong—the granddaddy of platformers. You play as Jumpman (aka Mario before he was famous), scrambling up steel girders while that big ape chucks barrels at you. The controls are dead simple: left, right, climb ladders, and jump over obstacles. But don’t let that fool you—timing those jumps between rolling barrels gets tense fast.
First level’s straightforward, but by the time you hit the conveyors and fireballs, you’ll be muttering at the screen. And that hammer power-up? Pure relief when you grab it. Just don’t celebrate too soon—Donkey Kong’s always got another trick waiting.
It’s one of those games where you swear you’ll stop after one try… then suddenly it’s been twenty.
