Brutal Mario is exactly what it sounds like—a twisted, harder-than-nails version of Super Mario World where everything wants to kill you. Like, immediately. The first Goomba you meet? Jumps twice as high. Pipes? Probably spewing fire now. It's the kind of mod where you'll die five times before even seeing the first checkpoint, and somehow that's the appeal.

They didn't just ramp up the difficulty though—there are new enemies, remixed levels, and some genuinely clever (read: evil) traps. Took me way too long to realize those innocent-looking coins were actually landmines in disguise. If you've played the original so much you can speedrun it blindfolded, this'll make you feel like a beginner again.
