Bomberman Max 2 is one of those GBA games that somehow feels both classic and fresh. You’ve got the usual grid-based chaos—drop bombs, blow up walls, and try not to get cornered by your own explosions—but the Max Version throws in some weird power-ups and a surprisingly fun single-player mode. I remember getting stuck on a few of the later stages because the AI gets sneaky with its bomb placements.

The Japanese version (Hyperion) has a couple of exclusive characters, and honestly, the sprite work is way more colorful than I expected for a GBA title. First time playing, I accidentally blew myself up within 30 seconds because I misjudged the fuse timer. Classic Bomberman.

If you’re into quick, chaotic matches or just want something to kill time between bus rides, this one holds up better than you’d think.
