Zool on the Game Boy is this weird, hyperactive platformer where you play as a ninja... from another dimension? Yeah, it's as bizarre as it sounds. The colors pop way more than you'd expect from a handheld, and the speed feels almost frantic—like someone cranked the tempo up to 11. It was clearly trying to be the Amiga's answer to Mario or Sonic, and while it doesn’t quite hit those heights, there’s something charming about its over-the-top energy.
Oh, and the Chupa Chups product placement is just... there. Like, full-on lollipop power-ups and logos plastered everywhere. Not sure why, but it adds to the game’s weird, early-'90s vibe. If you’re into fast, slightly chaotic platformers with a side of nostalgia, Zool’s worth a look.
