About Zoids 2 - Zenebas No Gyakushuu (japan)
Zoids 2: Zenebas no Gyakushuu came out in 1986 for the Nintendo Entertainment System. It was published by Tomy, the same company that made the model kits the series is based on. This was a time when licensed games were common, and this one tried to capture the feel of the Zoids universe on the 8-bit hardware.
You control a pilot who commands a Zoid, a mechanical animal, from an overhead view. Your main goal is to stop the Zenebas Empire by traveling across a world map and entering side-scrolling action stages. You explore these stages screen by screen, shooting enemy Zoids and avoiding obstacles. Between missions, you can visit bases to repair your Zoid and upgrade its weapons. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you rush in without a plan. It feels like managing a heavy piece of machinery in a war that depends on your careful movement and aim.
