Zerd No Densetsu (japan) Game

Zerd no Densetsu is one of those weird little Game Boy RPGs that never made it outside Japan—which is a shame, because it’s got this odd charm to it. You start off as this kid named Zerd (obviously), and within minutes you’re thrown into a world where you’re swinging swords at slimes and talking to villagers who give you vague hints about some prophecy. The combat’s simple but satisfying, and the overworld music is weirdly catchy for an 8-bit soundtrack.
It’s not exactly a hidden masterpiece, but if you’re into retro RPGs with that classic "lost in translation" vibe, it’s a neat little time capsule. The sprite work’s decent for a Game Boy title, and some of the dungeon layouts actually make you think for a second. Just don’t expect Final Fantasy levels of depth.
