Zerd no Densetsu 2 is one of those weird, obscure Game Boy RPGs that somehow slipped under the radar. You play as this little sword-wielding hero (or heroine—there’s a choice at the start) diving into a dark fantasy world full of monsters and magic. The combat’s simple but satisfying, with a mix of melee and spells, and the dungeons have that classic "where the heck do I go next?" vibe.
What makes it stand out is the eerie atmosphere—the music’s got this haunting chiptune quality, and the enemy designs are just bizarre in the best way. It’s not the deepest RPG out there, but if you’re into retro dungeon crawlers with a weird charm, this one’s worth a look. Just don’t expect a polished modern experience—it’s very much a product of its time.
Oh, and good luck finding a physical copy—this thing’s rare as heck. Emulation might be your best bet.
