Zen-Nippon Pro Wrestling Jet is one of those Game Boy wrestling games that somehow makes tiny pixel wrestlers feel absolutely brutal. You pick your fighter—some are quick but weak, others hit like a truck but move like one too—and then it’s straight into the ring. No fancy intros, just grapples, suplexes, and the occasional desperate button mash when you’re about to get pinned.
The controls take a minute to get used to (why is running so weird?), but once you figure out the timing for reversals, it clicks. There’s something satisfying about landing a perfectly timed German suplex or hearing that little *crunch* sound when your elbow drop connects. Matches get chaotic fast, especially in tag-team mode where the AI loves to gang up on you.
It’s not deep by modern standards, but for a Game Boy wrestling sim, it’s got enough charm to make you forget how stiff your hands are after playing too long. Just don’t expect a fair fight—the CPU cheats like crazy sometimes.
