About Yuu Yuu Hakusho Dai 2 Dan : Ankoku Bujutsu Kai
Yuu Yuu Hakusho Dai 2 Dan: Ankoku Bujutsu Kai came out for the Game Boy in 1994, published by Namco. It was part of that wave of licensed games based on the popular anime, arriving when handheld gaming was full of these kinds of side scrolling adventures. You don't see many people talking about it now, but back then, if you were a fan of the series, it was just another title you'd try out on your little gray brick of a console.
You control Yusuke Urameshi through a series of side scrolling stages, punching and kicking your way through various demons. The main goal is to fight through these levels, defeat the bosses, and ultimately confront the villainous group, the Black Black Club. The game uses a life bar for health, and you collect power ups to restore it or increase your spiritual energy. The pacing is fairly straightforward, moving from left to right, but the enemy placement can make some sections surprisingly difficult. It feels like a simple, repetitive brawler that relies heavily on your patience with its straightforward combat.
