Alright, so this is one of those old-school Game Boy fighters based on Yu Yu Hakusho—specifically the Dark Tournament arc. You pick from Yusuke, Kuwabara, Hiei, or Kurama and duke it out in these tiny, pixelated arenas. The sprites are surprisingly detailed for a Game Boy game, and the moves actually feel pretty close to the anime (Hiei’s got his Dragon of the Darkness Flame, Kuwabara swings that spirit sword around, etc.).
It’s not super deep—just basic punches, kicks, and specials—but there’s something charming about how janky the AI can be. Sometimes the CPU just stands there like it forgot what to do. Still, if you’re into 90s anime or grew up with this series, it’s a fun little nostalgia trip. Just don’t expect Street Fighter levels of polish.
Oh, and heads-up: it’s Japan-only, so no English text, but the menus are simple enough to stumble through. You’ll probably figure out "vs mode" before the title screen even finishes blinking.
