Xplorer 64 is one of those N64 gems that feels like it got lost in the shuffle—probably because it came out late in the console’s life. You start off in this weird, semi-open world where everything’s a little blocky (classic N64) but weirdly atmospheric. The puzzles are the real star here—some of them had me scratching my head for way too long, especially that one with the rotating bridges.
It’s got that classic adventure game vibe where you’re constantly poking around corners for hidden stuff, and the treasure system actually matters instead of just being filler. Graphics are… well, N64 graphics, but the art direction makes up for it with some surprisingly cool environments. If you’re into slower, thinky exploration games, this one’s got a weird charm to it.
Just don’t expect it to hold your hand—half the fun is getting lost and figuring it out.
