X Game

Man, playing X on the Game Boy takes me back. That chunky little console, the slightly washed-out greens of the screen—you know the vibe. At first glance, it’s just another pixelated adventure, but there’s something about the way it controls. Tight jumps, enemies that actually keep you on your toes, and those little "aha!" moments when you finally figure out a tricky section.
The music’s simple but weirdly catchy, too. I still catch myself humming the overworld theme sometimes. And yeah, it’s tough—like, "throw-your-Game-Boy-across-the-room" tough in spots—but in that way where you want to keep trying. No hand-holding, just you and your reflexes. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro games that don’t mess around, this one’s a no-brainer.
