World Cup Striker (japan) Game

Okay, so World Cup Striker (or Elite Soccer if you're not in Japan) is one of those early '90s Game Boy sports games that somehow feels both janky and weirdly charming. You’ve got your basic top-down soccer action—pass, shoot, tackle—but the controls take some getting used to. At first, I kept accidentally booting the ball straight to the other team because the passing is… let’s say "unpredictable."
The pixelated players are tiny, so you’ll squint a lot trying to follow the ball, and the AI isn’t exactly genius-level. But once you get the hang of it, there’s something satisfying about pulling off a last-minute goal with that crunchy Game Boy sound effect. Just don’t expect FIFA-level realism—this is pure arcade chaos.
Fun fact: The Japanese version has slightly different team names and a way more intense title screen. That’s about it for differences, though.
