Wizards & Warriors came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, a time when side scrolling action games were common. You control the knight Kuros, moving him through forests, castles, and caverns screen by screen. Your main goal is to defeat the wizard Malkil, which involves navigating these areas, fighting monsters, and rescuing imprisoned maidens along the way. You use a sword for close combat and can find a crossbow for attacking enemies from a distance. A key part of the game is collecting keys to open doors and searching for three magical crowns hidden in the levels.
